The Real Estate Kings are two professional, full-time REALTOR®s whose goal is to exceed the expectations of our clients. We measure our success by the referrals we receive and consider them to be their own testament to our commitment to remain a consistently top-ranked, dynamic Real Estate team.
Sheran has lived in Fort McMurray for 35 years…yes, really. In that time she and Doug have raised three amazing children, two of which work with them on the team. The third son, Derek lives in Vernon, B.C. with his wife Jodi and family of three children where he has enjoyed building homes and raising hockey players.
Sheran spent 18 years working with the Public School District, 4 yrs as a teaching assistant and 14 yrs as a teacher. Her fondest memories are of the 13 years spent teaching grade 3 at Greely Road School. The major highlights were definitely participating in the annual Music Festival and the three day excursions to Edmonton. Since that time however, she has had the pleasure of selling homes to some of her former students. Even as adults, she is still “Mrs. King” to them.
In 2001, Sheran had the once in a lifetime opportunity to teach English in Japan. The experience and the memories will stay with her forever. She met some very interesting people, who to this day have remained friends and was able to immerse herself into the Japanese culture.
Upon returning to Canada in 2002, Sheran decided to change careers and like her mother and grandfather before her, became a 3rd generation real estate agent…just as Fort McMurray was beginning to experience a housing boom. Now 12 years later, she and her team continue to be a top ranked team with Coldwell Banker providing excellent service as attested by past and present clients.
Doug arrived on his 21st birthday, with a half a hockey bag of clothes, some curiosity and a short term plan to ‘check it out’. 40 years, 3 children and 9 grandchildren later, he likes what he’s found.
While it’s true we take our lumps on the global stage from those who think they know what’s going on, those who live here and do know what makes this wonderful community thrive understand that it’s us. We’re a hard-working, hard-playing, gregarious group that always has time to help one another. Doug is proud to be a long time member of the Fort McMurray community and, other than marrying Sheran, moving here might have been the best decision he ever made.
